RAILROADS IN THE AREA:

CSX "S-Line":

- Stretch along HWY 301:

This line just barely cuts into the southeast corner of the county and then back out along HWY 301. Southward it heads into Pasco county (Dade City) and northward to Sumter county (Bushnell). I recommend visiting the pages for Sumter county for information on this section of the line from this area north and the Pasco county map for Dade City and south.

Standard CSX Railroad:

- Annutteliga Hammock - Brooksville - South:

This line of track stretches from just north of Brooksville, south through Brooksville, and southward into Pasco county (Land O Lakes) and down into Hillsborough county (Lutz and Tampa). I have seen some moderate size freight trains pull out of Brooksville heading south. Several time I have seen them parked just before the crossing at Manecke Rd, just west of HWY 98 north of town. The easiest way I know of to follow these trains is to use HWY 41, which is Broad St in Brooksville, this will take you all the way through Lutz, into Hillsborough county. Following a train north of Brooksville is not easy and can be complicated, some of the crossings north of town are: HWY 98, Yontz Rd & Cobb Rd (near the intersection of the two roads), Lake Lindsey Rd, and Citrus Way (just south and west of HWY 98).

FREQUENCIES USED IN AREA:

     Frequency Description:
- 452.9375 Mhz - Redman Front
- 457.9375 Mhz - Redman End
- 161.1000 Mhz - CSX "S - Line"

It is always possible other frequencies could be used, I recommend having all frequencies from my Railroad Frequencies page for best possible chances of catching that train.
