this is a fairly wide ROAD in Japan - the Expressway is the only road that is significantly wide.
This is the shopping area of Yomiuriland, yes that is considered a ROAD. Try driving on it.

Yomiuriland is the area where I stayed while in Tokyo, It is pretty much a large residential neighborhood, but has its own shopping area.
